"Chance" - The Early Years

Chance at six months
Chance takes his first points under Siberian Breeder/Judge Kim LeBlanc at 6 1/2 months of age.

On Oct.19/01, at 6 1/2 months of age, Chance walked into the show ring for the first time.  From his actions you would have thought that he had been there many times before.. he is a very confident young male.  Chance has good bone and feet, and seems to float at the end of his leash.  Following in his dam & sire's paw prints, he won WD, BOW, BOS, BP to give him 3 points towards his Canadian Championship.

His second show, held in Red Deer Alberta in November, saw Chance take Best Puppy of Breed all three days. Sunday that weekend was the Alaskan Malamute Booster, and Chance came home with a new Wolf plate.  His last show of 2001 saw us at our own local show. Although he did not place in the *Big Doggy Group*, he did make the cut.  Chance obtained his Canadian Championship from the puppy class at 9 months of age with only 4 weekends worth of shows.  Now he needs to grow up, but be sure to watch as this boy has a lot to offer.

Chance National Specialty Award of Merit at 13 months
Chance takes the first Award of Merit at the 2002 AMCC National Specialty on his thirteen month birthday!  Chance was beautifully shown by Joe Hug to this wonderful win under judge Mr. Richard Fehler.

And here's Chance taking Best of Breed and a Group 2nd at the Working Herding Specialty following the National.  What a wonderful start in this young boy's specials career!  Pictured with Guy Anctil.
Chance, Group 4th, September 2002
Chance and I attended the Edmonton Kennel Club Show in September, 2002, returning home with three Best of Breeds and a Group 4th!  Way to go, Chance!
Chance, Group 4th, October 2003
And here's Chance in November 2003 at the Grand Prairie Show, wonderfully handled by Patty Kendrick. Another Group 4th!  In very limited showing, Chance is proving to be a consistent group placer.  Judge was Ms Judy Shurb.
